The United Club at London Heathrow (LHR) is a relatively new lounge located in Terminal 2 of the massive airport. Luckily the lounge matches the size of the airport - with enough room to fit 280 seats and three food and drink areas, it is both busy and spacious.
- Name: United Club London Heathrow (LHR)
- Location: Terminal 2, Opposite Gate B46
- Hours: 5:00 - 22:00
- Capacity: 280 Guests
- Amenities: Full-Service Bar, Buffet, Food To Order, Snacks, TV, Internet, WiFi, Printing, Showers
The above description doesn't do the club justice. This is a massive space with enough room for all of the frequent travelers of LHR - especially considering that United just changed their policy and require a same day ticket to gain entrance.
The biggest benefit: everything just feels new. There are USB, UK and USA electrical outlets everywhere - a big gripe of mine in many lounges. The bathrooms and showers are pristine. And a made-to-order food and drink menu is pretty rare worldwide.
As expected, the WiFi was excellent. I was able to stream House of Cards and upload photos with no issues - my standard test in a lounge. I also appreciated the size and layout of the TV room. Many lounges have dark movie rooms, whereas this was more of quiet, sectioned-off mini lounge.
The food and drink selection was quite expansive. When entering, there was a large room full of a hot and cold buffet. Then there was an area at the other end of the lounge with bottled drinks and snacks. Both areas gave way to a central bar overlooking the tarmac - in addition to the menus at nearly every table. Food quality was just OK, but at least there were a number of choices.
There are a few methods to access the lounge, including flying business or first class on United or a partner Star Alliance airline, having Star Alliance Gold status, having a United Club membership or a few other methods.

Don't forget that the Chase United Club Card gets you complimentary United Club access while the Chase United Explorer card gets you two free United Club day passes, eligible for anyone in addition to all the other great benefits the card offers.
