A truly flawless hotel. The Conrad is always so good to me! I am a sucker for views and this place had me hooked from the moment I arrived. The Conrad faces west overlooking the Thai Gulf from above providing the calmest mornings and stunning sunsets. Every room is a private villa with an infinity pool and deck overlooking the ocean. The rooms are massive and freestanding with complete privacy and all the amenities you need - including apple TV and an iPad. Between this and room service there is no need to leave, ever. I think I'm depressed after leaving my new favorite place.
The standard ocean view villas are more like suites. I felt beyond spoiled in these elegantly designed, beautiful rooms. To make matters better (if that is possible) we got upgraded to their finest room - the Royal Suite. We didn't even know what to do with all that space! The double decker suite has an even bigger infinity pool, dining table embedded into the pool, massive living/dining room inside, an oversized round king bed, and a gorgeous marble bathroom with jet tub, and a private grass lawn. Not to mention the massive closet space that for once Kyle and I could both fit in. I don't think we ever left the room. See more on the Royal Suite and how I afforded the Conrad in this post.
The Conrad houses the famous Jahn restaurant where we dined one night and indulged in the elegant Thai cuisine. Everything was flawless from the service, to the many (many) courses, to the vegan coconut ice cream dessert. The green papaya salad toped with papaya caviar was out of this world. Green papaya has all the enzymes of papaya without the sugar - a staple in my diet here in Thailand! On Saturdays at Jahn (when we went) fireworks go off over the water where we had a perfect view mid meal. The night was simply magical.
Breakfast was included for us each day as a gold member. The massive buffet was beautiful with a huge selection of greens, veggies, fruit, eggs, and so much more including Thai specialties and breakfast sushi. Not to mention you get to enjoy your breakfast with another sparkling view of the water.
DETOX AND RELAX
This oasis is the perfect place to detox and cleanse. There are so many great salads, vegetarian options, and clean foods that will leave you feeling good. I lost my yoga mat in Haad Yuan sadly but the hotel provided one for me to practice in the villa. Words do not describe the perfection of morning yoga overlooking the turquoise Thai Gulf. The weather was not overly humid, still somewhat cool with a breeze, and a had sense of calm stillness that slowed time for a while.
The Conrad's spa provided the best Swedish massage of my life. It's western prices are relatively expensive for Thailand but standard for the U.S. (about $100 for 60 min) but so worth it to get a good massage from someone trained well. If there is one thing I like to splurge on for the sake of wellness its massages. The spa also had extra virgin coconut oil here which I ran out of - yesss only $10. :) :)
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was impeccable. Truly good service at nice hotels involves making guests feel at home and comfortable as opposed to pretentious hotels that act otherwise. I felt like we were high maintenance at times even but everyone went above and beyond what we needed. We got in early and they even let us check in to our rooms before 10am. Such a wonderful experience - I must go back some day.
