The romantic city of Buenos Aires is one of my personal favorites. The city has such a unique feeling - It looks like you are in Europe from the Parisian architecture and charming outdoor cafes but feels like South America from the Spanish speaking natives and laid back vibes. There is something so relaxed about this elegant place. With cobblestone streets lined by oversized draping trees, you will get that "travel high".
As traveling to any big city is overwhelming, here is a list of the best places to stay in BA based on my criteria.
Recoleta is a beautiful upscale part of BA that resembles the streets of Paris. It is where the Park Hyatt, Four Seasons, and other luxury hotels are located. Beautiful embassies from other countries are also scattered about here. Not only is the area charming but there is a lot of activity around. The MALBA (Museum of Latin American Art) is a stones throw away along with great shopping (El Ateneo Grand Splendid - a must see!). Oh and the famous Recoleta cemetery of course! Don't worry, it isn't too close for comfort...
You can't go wrong here whether you do luxury or find a budget apartment. Palermo is known for shopping, restaurants, bars, and parks. The area is safe, clean, and very cute. Great area! you will find yourself making the trek here from other neighborhoods often.
3. Puerto Madera
If you want to get fancy shmancy then Puerto Madero is your answer. The famous Faena Hotel is located here along with other luxurious options along the water. You will aslso find the landmark Puente de la Mujer - a majestic foot bridge that actually rotates to allow passing boats through the marina. It translates to "Women's Bridge".
